Start today
This page is called "Start Today". It could just as easily be called "Start Over Today," because we can recreate ourselves. But first, we must know who we want to be, where we are going, our goals and aspirations, in order to become them. In order to create something, we must have an idea of what we want to create. If you are an artist molding with clay, you may have an idea that you may want to make a horse out of the clay, but if you didn't at least have an idea that's what you wanted to create, you would likely end up with a blob of clay. With a goal in mind, you can get to the end result, which in this example is a horse made out of clay, much faster than if you just played around with shapes with the clay, forming different animal shapes until you realize that all along you wanted a horse. You wasted time forming chickens, frogs and what not.
As I said on the home page, let's start with writing things down. We need a map to tell us where we are, and where we're going. It is important to write things down because the mind is always thinking new thoughts and when we write things down, we are creating an anchor for our thoughts. Writing it down gives us something physical, something solid, or real, to focus on.
- What do I like about where I am and what do I want to change?
- What would be an ideal day?
- What emotions would I like to experience?
- What changes would I like to make in my health? In my relationships? In my work? In my home? In my finances?
Some things you may want to write about for starters are:
Write them down. RIGHT NOW! Just do it!!! Or you can write them in your favorite word document, or in a password protected diary. I like to journal daily in a diary I have on my computer. It's a program you can download: here. Click here to read more about it! (Opens a new window)
You can also read my review on this diary on my products page.
Work on writing these answers down, and come back tomorrow. Writing it down will alone make you feel some relief. It may give you some hope for the future, or it may make life seem more managable. Next, we will learn what to do with these goals. Just go to: Got Goals?
